10 April 2009Scarlett Johansson plays Black Widow in Iron Man 2
Word has spread that Scarlett Johansson will be starring in the upcoming “Iron Man 2″ movie, where she will be playing the role of Black Widow.
The super hero movie will hit theaters in 2010. Johansson will also take up the same role in the new “The Avengers” movie, scheduled for 2012. “The Black Widow is the name of a fictional spy character in Marvel Comics universe” (Wikipedia) and its appearances are not limited to one single comic book title. The original Natalia Romanova (AKA Natasha Romanoff) alter-ego character dates back to April 1964 when she appeared in Tales of Suspense #52. In the new Iron Man movie, The Black Widow is in fact a Russian superspy, accompanied by Whiplash, a character played by Mickey Rourke. Robert Downey Jr. will take up the role of “Iron Man” again.
From what it looks like, the outfit Scarlett will wear (below) certainly resembles a latex catsuit!
