Pirelli published their famous exclusive calendar for year 2009 shoot in Botswana, Africa, featuring couple of models in latex.
The Pirelli calendar is famous for its limited availability because it is not sold to the general public and is only given as a corporate gift to a restricted number of important company customers and celebrity VIPs. It is published annually, and regularly features famous actresses and fashion models. The calendar also features the work of many of the most respected fashion photographers in the world.
The recent feature for year 2009 introduces several models wearing our favorite material – latex! The calendar was photographed by Peter Beard in Botswana bush at Okavango Delta. Namely we found latex on the following pictures & models:
- January: Rianne ten Haken and Lara Stone
- March: Malgosia Bela and Mariacarla Boscano
- April: Malgosia Bela and Mariacarla Boscano
- September: Daria Werbowy
- November: Isabeli Fontana
- December: unknown model
I found it a clever move to put latex into contrast with the wildest African nature. It is another example latex being used in marketing while lightly hinting the nature of Pirelli’s industry and at the same time reach even wider audience. But come on Pirelli, latex needs to be better shined up to show its true appeal. And next time invite some real fetish models too!
